If you find yourself having dreams of swimming upstream in a current that is faster than you swim, you know what panic is. 

Realize you are not alone.  Most Americans are one paycheck away from disaster without a plan for paying their bills if that check does not arrive.

But what if it is even worse?  Perhaps you do not see how to pay the bills even if the check arrives.  The collectors may have begun their calls (or soon will -- get information on the Fair Debt Collection Act).  The good news is that there is hope.

We will focus on the Four Walls:  food, shelter, transportation, and clothing.  You must make sure your basic needs are met (not basic cable).

Don't get discouraged; we will not stay at this point, but you need to fortify the fortress before moving on.  Also, having a plan will reduce the stress and return you to a place of feeling in control.
